Next step up over 4.10's with stock rear??? I see 4.10's for sale and I know a little grinding is required with the $99 Torsen dealie from SLP... but whats the next step up?
Will they work with the torsen unit? What is required to make them work?
I wouldn't mind a cheap spool or locker of some sort. My car is no where near stock anyway so I'm not worried about driveability.

Re: Next step up over 4.10's with stock rear??? Don't waste money "upgrading" the stock rear. As you go up in gear ratios, the gear sets get weaker and will break easier. This is because the pinion gets smaller and smaller.
4.30s would be the next step. I'd rather put that money into a 12-bolt though.

Would 4.30's be capable of handling a 1.6 60'? My car doesn't hit THAT hard but it does hit.
Perhaps there is a cheaper carrier method to fit 4.10's and 4.30's? I don't mind a spool/locker setup... ???
