Are motive gears good?
#6
Motive makes a good gear, but keep in mind that any gear in the 10 bolt can break. The reason is that their overall size is so small. I saw a guy who had a brand new set of Richmond gears strip the teeth off the gears on his 1st pass at the track. Richmond makes strong gears, it was just his luck. Bob

Motive makes 2 different lines of gears. The ones in the blue box are the street gears, which nearly always whine. They are junk.
However, the Motives in the orange box are Motive performance gears and, as far as aftermarket brands go, are the best you can buy.
However, in my opinion, the oem GM gears (made by AAM) are the best. They set up easier, and never whine. They are just hard to get since there is only 1 AAM dealer per state, and some states don't have any.

As far as Motive goes, ive had motive 4.10s in my camaro for about 6 months now, they are a little whiny, but they are still holding up. Dont expect them to last much longer with the cam. thats why a 12-bolt is in the near future.

They better be good gears, just ordered a set from the WS6 Store. I am friends with Mike over there and he said he broke his Richmond gears in his TA, and the Motives held up good. Great bunch of guys over there!!

I have the Motive 3.90s bought from the WS6store PN MTG-G875390 and should have them installed soon. I'm going from 3.42s. I've also heard that Motive has less whine so that helped with my decission.
