Default moser 9"... aluminum center section and spool?

Like the title says... I've got a moser 9" in my car with some sort of posi and I'm not sure how many spline axles. Anyways, the posi is getting weak and I'm seriously considering a spool for it. A buddy of mine mentioned not running a spool with an aluminum center section... possible distorting/warping the case with alot of street driving.

Thoughts/comments/experience?

Thanks!!

The aluminum center section is not a problem on the street,as it was Moser's only case for quite a while, and nobody that I know of every had a problem with them. Bob

I have an aluminum center section right now... with a posi. My concern is if I switch to a spool will I possibly have issues with distorting the aluminum case?

A spool sucks on the street. Very much so.

i have a strange aluminum center in mine filled with 35spline axles and a lightweight spool. seems to be fine so far.

the only thing with the alu. center is when its new its like a new block. after a few heat cycles/track launches it "seasons" itself. no big deal though.

Any truth to that? I wonder what Moser will say?

thats just what i noticed on mine. it didn't make a sound when it was new, after breaking in & a few good clutch dumps, it makes some noise. i can only hear it when i'm listening for it, nothing bad.

its kinda the same principal with sleeving a new aluminum block, they won't do it because it has not been "seasoned".
