Default new 9" whine

i got my 9" made from moser and a driveshaft installed at a machine shop. i have put 80 miles on it so far and 6+ heat cycles, and it whines when i let off the gas and its pretty loud. i am hoping it will get quieter as it breaks in?? it has been hard but i haven't gased it or shifted it hard yet.

Do you have an adjustable torque arm? If you do, check the pinion angle. Although rare, I have seen it cause noise like you described. Also check for rear end interference with the body when the weight is on the tires. Bob

My 12-bolt started sounding like a jetliner slowing to land on deceleration, just after I had the pinion seal replaced ... now, it's going in the shop because there's a grinding noise coming from it when I turn the wheels 10-15 degrees when I'm stopping. I'd have the have the setup re-checked wherever you got it installed. A lot more experienced people than me, but, just my opinion.
