S60 Installed tonight
I finally got my Strange Dana 60 intalled this afternoon/tonight. So far so good, all the stock hardware bolted right up without issues. The only hitch was I had to notch the torque arm bracket on my aftermarket adjustable peice slightly, 1/4 inch or less. So far as I can hear it is whisper quiet up to 80mph (haven't taken it faster yet and) . Granted with a A1000 pump and 3.5 inch exaust its hard to hear much, but even when i shut the car off coasting down hill into my neighborhood it was no louder than stock. I have read many tales of woe about Strange rear ends so I wanted to post up one that so far is doing well.

I got mine through the shop that tunes my car, cost me 2250, I am using the edelbrock adjustable torque arm, the length and the bolt pattern was spot on, but rear most plate on the torque arm that mounts to the rear end was bumping on the housing a little hence the neccesity to notch it slightly

pros
lower paracitic loss
capable of 1000hp+ capacity
less expensive
direct bolt in
cons
requires shorter driveshaft...which offsets the cost savings of the rear over a 12bolt
lots of people complaining about whining after breakin...
i'm hoping by the time i can sell enough sperm to afford one...they have the problems worked out. i mean these rears were used in vehicles for decades with no whine...why now??

While it does require a shorter driveshaft, if you need a new rear cause the old one blew up, your probably around the horsepower where a stronger driveshaft is a prudent investment, IMO
