Default Carbonfiber DS

Does anyone have one? What gains have you seen? I have C5 and I was wanting to get one. So far the only one I have seen is from LG motorsports and not sure if the 1 1/2 is worth the money. Also does any company make custom DS's. Thank you.

To answer your questions:

1. Yes, I have one
2. None.
3. Precision Shaft Technologies made mine, and it was custom.

Mine is a 3.75" diameter shaft with 1350 joints front and rear. It weighed in at 12 lbs. The stock, 3" diameter aluminum shaft it replaced was also 12 lbs. I wouldn't necessarily get it to gain power...I don't think you'll see any (the rotational mass is so close to the axis of rotation that you won't see much of a change in its inertia).

Would you say it was a good investment and would you buy one again?

Oh man...trying to remember here. I think it was about $900 shipped to my door, and they had it to me in less than a week.

Value? Definitely not the best value, but I like it. I'd get one again if I had the money to spend...if not, I'd just get one of their aluminum shafts and call it a day. I wanted the best vibration damping characteristics, so I went with the CF. No real reason other than that...my car certainly isn't fast enough to need one. Yet.

Here's PST's website. I think it should be OK to post. Granted I don't believe PST is a sponsor, but numerous LS1tech sponsors sell their pieces.

http://www.pstds.com/

FWIW, I have their HD Aluminum shaft in my car. No complaints here.

It'd be so sweet to have a cs driveshaft, not for the piece of mind but to be able to say it! I love the look of cs, ,I'd probably bend over everyday to look at it, lol

I have one also by pst in my 01 ta. It's hard to say if the sotp feel is actual or in my mind. But it's minor enough not to get it for performance in my opinion. I got mine because my aluminum one had been lathed by excess brake cable resting on it. I chose the cf ds for it's vibrational characteristics. In that area, it is a world of difference improvement. In a corvette though, I wouldn't think that would be an issue.
