Default Leaky moser 12bolt axel bearings

I'm about to replace my 3rd axel bearing on my moser 12 bolt since i've owed
it on account of leaking . This one went almost a year ,maybe 6000 miles before failing.Does anyone know of a permanent fix for this problem? It's happened on both sides so it's not a bent axel , just starts leaking through the
bearing after a while. Is there a higher quality bearing around than the moser
stuff?Sure makes a mess when this happens.

I haven't had too many problems with the seals leaking. I'd give Moser a call at 260 726-6689, line 1 when the recording starts and ask what should be done for your situation. Bob

When the bearings are installed, can't you put a bead of permatex in the housing before you install the bearing?

I think its the seal which has to be beat into the rear, thats leaking, not the bearing. Those are pretty darn tight and the tolerances are dead on. He needs to make sure to pack the seal with axle grease so he wont force out the inner rubber band thingy and lube the inner lip of the seal

Well when you pull the axel on the leaky ones the seal on the bearing is loose and crooked , so the bearing needs replacement. The pressed in axel seal in the housing is just the first line of defense. I called moser to get the bearings each time as I can't seem to source them locally with the orings on the outside, when I asked them about this they acted as is they had never heard of such a thing. This last bearing went about a year so I think we can rule out installation error.

A part failing once is one thing, I would be worried about a bent or slightly off axle. Make sure its all so pressed on by a good place. Thats the only suggestion that I could make.

I'll put the indicator on the flange again and check it but it was straight last time
I fixed it a year ago.
