Default Having a problem with my moser 12 bolt.

Its actually a pretty big problem. Its got the wheel studs it came with but for some reason the stock lugnuts wont stay tight on them. They wont tq down to 100ftlbs, they just spin when they get to that point. Any idea's?

are the studs turning with the lugnut? take your wheel off and see if the studs are seated all the way. if they arnt take a hammer and tap the stud out to get it to grip the hub. then put like 3 washers on the stud followed by a lugnut and turn until the the stud seats.

Also could be as simple as lug nuts are stripped, or stud threads are stripped.

If the Moser 12 bolt uses the same studs as the Strange 12 bolt they are screw in studs not press in. Check to see if they put in 7/16 studs instead of 12 x 1.5 mm. 7/16 is just over 11 mm and may cause your problem.

You obviously have an issue that needs fixed but why are you torquing them to 100 ft lbs?
I use 75 to 80 ft lbs and have never had an issue.

Maybe your giving em too much torque.

Because 100 is what the factory calls for. A lot of racers will torque them to 110 or 120 for added security, don't know if that would actually help or not.

75-80 is too low for our cars.

Well I called the guy I bought the rear from to get his input. I was not aware that they were 7/16 studs. I just wnt and bought some 7/16x20 lugs and they bolted right down perfect. Thanks guys for the info, made this an easy fix.

I have 1/2" studs on my strange 12 bolt. I had to look around a little for lug nuts for my street wheels. It wasn't easy to find 1/2" open lugs that take a 3/4" socket.

Where did you end up finding them?
