Default Thinking about 4.10's (yes I read sticky, and did some searching)

Thinking about doing 4.10's. Is this all I need?

http://www.byunspeed.com/product_inf...726c74d2126329

and

http://www.byunspeed.com/product_inf...726c74d2126329

Also, I read this in the sticky:
So if you attempt to swap the wrong rear into your car and don't hook it up right, the dash lights will illuminate
Is this refering to whole rear end or just gears as well? I don't want a dash light blinking at me. Thanks

I am in the same boat as you. You need a little more than just the gear set. Since your car is a 99, it will have the Torsen differential, and according to what you found, you'd have to go with that paddle kit.

Everything you need is available here in a nice little package....

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=68

Price looks higher, but it isn't. If you only get the gears from Thunder Racing, Motive gears for example, they'll only cost around 190. But you do need all the other stuff, like carrier bearings, shims, fluids, etc.. Check their website out some more if you don't want the performance cover.

99's for sure have the Torsen diff? So if I just get that setup from Thunder you're talking about I should be good right? That seems like a pretty good deal if it comes with everything I need.

What about the Brake sensor cause my dash lights to go off (post #1)?

Couple more q's guys. Did some more reading in the sticky. If my car is a torsen rear then I will need a paddle kit right?

Also, if it is a Torsen rear I don't need the limited slip additive, correct?

Were all 99's Torsen unless the option from SLP was taken?

Did you order online or did you call to order? When you call, they give you good tech advice. Right now you're a step ahead of me, you ordered yours already...hehe....but yeah, in theory, you have everything.

How much more was it to go with the GM gears?

I called them, they said that was everything I needed. The GM gears were and extra $35. He said they are made by Motive but some how better? IDK, I wanted to get regular motives but they were out so I went with the GM's. Total kit was $460.00.

After they are installed I have to tune the computer to get the Speedo and Tach to read correctly right?

Does it screw with the tach too? Or just the speedo, if it's a 5-10 miles an hour off, it's not really that big of a deal to me.

the faster you go the farther it is off, I would probably get it fixed, my speedo says 80 when im going about 73, it gets worse at higher speeds.

They were out of the Motives? Oh crap....hmm...When I called a week a go I was told they only had two of the GM's....and you just bought one....guess I better get on the horn before I have to wait forever. I remember when I installed my cam....they have everything except one minor thing......the cam!!! Had to wait 2 weeks.

When do you think you will get them, and once you do, how long do you think till you have them installed? I want a review!
