Default what gear ratio should i go with??

I am building a pro street impala. I have a 383 with 12-1 compression, almost 600 lift cam, 3200 stall and a 250hp. shot. the car is about 3400lbs. I have a narrowed 9'' and I have 32X14.50's and I am running a th350.
I want my car setup for a 1000ft. so I am trying to figure out what size gears to run, any suggestions??

Can I ask why you want 1000' and not 1320' (1/4 mile)?

If your looking for max accleration within 1000' you'll need to estimate how fast you will be going at the 1000' mark. This is based on HP and weight. Then use this website and enter your redline, rear axle ratio, tire diameter, and gear ratios and find the highest numerical rear gear that will get past 1000' without redlining in 1:1 ratio (A4 = 3rd gear)

http://www.f-body.org/gears/

Don't forget that there is driveline loss through an automatic unless the torque converter is locked. Also, tire diameter increases slightly with speed.

Aren't the 1000 ft tracks built because they are suppose to be safer?
