Default wheel spacers used temporarly

just want to know if it's safe/possible to do this? this is what I'm thinking. I am going with 9" here soon, I would like to order my 9" say 2" or 3" shorter but, dont have the money to buy rims with offset to fit shortened rear end. so I'm thinking I can order 9' shortened and use spacer to allow me to use stock rims till I'm able to purchase correct offset rims, is this possible? I will not run on track till I get offset rims. so what do ya'll think? any info/suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks

Lots of guys run spacers. All the 3rd gen guys that are using 4th gen spec wheels have to run 2" spacers at each corner. Im using 1.7" spacers in the front with no issues. If you arent going to the track, Ide say you will be perfectly fine. Just install them correctly...

Go with a good brand like skulte and follow their directions and you wont have an issue with them.

Just to clarify...Im saying BOLT ON spacers, sometimes referred to as adapters are safe. Not slip on spacers that rely on the wheel lug nuts to hold it all together. I wouldnt trust something like that over 1/2 inch. But it sounds like you will need atleast an inch for what you are donig...so you can get bolt on ones and be fine.

These are the spacers he is talking about...

they work great on my car to give the stock 16's a nice stance in the rear.
