It broke Well I am new to these LS1 cars and I have a 99 Trans Am. The car has 11,000 miles on it and the posi broke.
Was at the track on my 4th pass it broke. I think it is the spider gears. What shocks me is my car is stock and I have the original radial tires still on the car. I heard these rear ends are week but figured stock without sticky tires I would be OK for a while.

If budget is an issue, then you can buy a used 10-bolt on here for cheap ($150-200).

it broke No funny noises. The track was prepped pretty well. My 60' before it broke were 1.97 and 1.98. When I raced it prior to this it ( at another track ) 60' at 2.09 to 2.15

i feel u man, my first time at the track on about the 4th pass, my driveshaft just snapped and took some of the pinion teeth with it.. went with the moser 12 4.11's and never looked back
