Default Bad Junkyard rear end?

Well i recently broke my rear end so i headed to the junkyard in search for a decent one. I thought i got lucky and found a one off a 2000 camaro and with some negotiating i lowered the price to 300 dollars. We had opened the housing and everything was fine. Once we had the rear end replaced we threw on the tires and lowered the car and then we notices that the driver side wheel began to wobble, significantly when driven! checked the nuts and brake brakets and all was good. Lifted the rear and put it in neutral and one wheel turns perfectly while the other (driver) gets stuck at times. Please tell me that its just my axle. Hopefully it is. What else could it be? any other alternative. Im also having trouble putting back my hotchkis panhard rod back on, any tips. Thanks.

Well it sounds like a bent axle for sure...What is your pandhard rod doing that makes it not fit, you should be able to move your rearend from one side to the other to get the bolt hole to line up or if the mount is bent use a BFH it get back to where it needs to be. Got any pic's?

Thats funny I sold a 32k, pristine 4 channel 3.42 gear rear for 300, the buyer loved it!

I will try to get some pictures up tonight. With a bit more of man power and will im pretty sure i can get my panhard rod in. I really need it in because my 315's tuck in from one side and stick out alot from the other without the rod in. Thinking about buying an adjustable one. Hopefully its my axle. One more question, how much do the rear break setup go for?

Well i think i just got F$#@ed with 300 dollars for the rear end. The driver side axle was so bent that it took us half an hour to pry it out then when we tried to put in the other (new axle) and we couldn't get it the last 3-2 inches (where the bent one had the trouble coming out from). F@#$!!! 5 hours of work for nothing and now i doubt that the junkyard will re-inverse anything. I doubt that its that difficult to place the axle, is it? we worked on it for well over and hour with hammers and pry bars, neutral and park, NOTHING! HELP!

Sounds like cutting off the axle tube and having it redone might be your best bet (other than replacing whole thing)

C clip was out and the center plate also. We thought we missed something but it was just to bent. Pried it out and the new one axle was just as difficult to try to get in but we couldn't get it in the last 3 inches where we had trouble taking the old one off.

Sorry for the intrusion but...

Have you driven on the axle? If so, what kind of sound did it make.

I replaced mine with a junkyard axle, and its making a whooshing sound. I might have the same problem as you.
