Default Nine inch install

Aside from crushing my hand when the wrench slipped off the caliper bolt. I'd say it went pretty smooth. Here are some pics.[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Is it normal for the housing to sit back like this?

It'll shift forward once you've got the tires on and weight on it. Looks VERY NICE!!! How's the alignment for the LCAs? I see an adjustable torque arm there also. ..which one is it?

It's all UMI stuff. The torque arm is the adj. trans mounted one. The rear is a little noisy. I guess it's the truetrack.

If you haven't gotten it together yet, might I suggest, removing the LCA, installing the back part onto the rear end, lowering just enough to access the front part on the body? Thats how I did mine and you can fine-tune the install that way. . .(i.e. lowering/raising as needed and you don't have to get UNDER the car nearly as much. . .)

My two cents

What brand rear end is that? I don't recognize that torque arm mount. Also it looks like they offer different lower control arm holes already built into the rear end?

The rear sitting back is some what normal, thats the worst part about a 9". Once you get the tires on and the weight on it see how it looks. If it still looks like it is in a bind measure how center the wheels are sitting in the wheel wells. If they are not you may need to invest in a set of adjustable lower control arms in order to get the rear end centered.

It was built by a shop called "Rear Gears". A fellow by the name of Danny Miller owns the shop. The rear seems to be centered front to rear equally. Just pushed further back than before. The driveshaft he suggested measures 1" longer than stock. He said the pinion yoke is a little shorter than the 10 bolt. Up front, it looks like the torque arm isn't pulled back. It looks like it sits in the same spot as with the 10 bolt. Thanks for the input guys. Keep it coming. Ryan are you just trying to sell me more stuff. My wife will be thrilled.

I am at pictures 1 and 2 right now. My car doesn't look as clean as yours though, my brake lines are all rusty and crappy.

Anyway, I don't have lower spring isolators. Did those come with your springs or something?

It would be nice if the thing didn't weigh like 300#!

Yeah, they came with the springs. C'mon, it's not that heavy . I'll gladly trade the weight for a bullet proof rearend though. Good luck on the install. It's not too bad.

Damn now I want little isolators.

Agreed, I will be happy with it....

But, since it isn't that heavy. How about you come over and lug it around. Cause my wife isn't cutting it and I can't seem to lift it by myself!

If you were a little closer, I'd be happy to lend a hand.
