Pros and Cons going from 2.73 to 3.42?
I recently bought a 00 ss with an A4 and 2.73. Been suggested going to a 3.42 would be a good idea. Just wanted to know how it worked for others.
Did it cost anything in MPG for the lower gears, friend tells me the 3.42 is the perfect gear for my stock daily driver car, that I will be happier with them over the 2.73.
Looks like i can get a set installed for about $400 from what he is telling me.
TIA

the the original poster if you do have 2.73s then make the switch; you'll be very happy with it. When I had the switch in my old Z it really woke the car up.
