Default 2:73 to 3:73 growl/wine when turning right

i have a 98 ts which has 2:73 in it 160k car .. I bought the 3:73 thick gear and master install set for Exotic performance plus "richmond gearset" i bought vavoline durablend 80 90 w oil k&W posi additive. well the guys put the gears in said the little whine would go away as they smoothed out . well as im going down the road i come up on a sweeping right when i go around it the rearend makes like a grind/howling noise i was like ok nevermind... well when i got home i have a hard right corner like 90 degree it made it really loud ... so i have looked up and read on here with no luck .... all i can find is people with pinion whine nothing like this.... to make a long story short they are brand new gears less than 30 miles on them when i make a hard right turn it growls/whines at me .. any input would be greatly appreciated
thanks chris

no i may have put at most 35 miles on them however i just got back agian from a run around the block. when i turn right slow nothing but if im rolling and like a a sudden cut to the right or even weaving back in forth in the lane it makes a noise ... the noise is almost like missing a gear "a buzz grind noise"

well im not an expert on gears...hopefully somebody who is comes in...but to me it sounds like they were not aligned correctly.

Sounds like they dont add the posi additive and the posi is not engaging right. if not that, yea it could be not shimmed right.

i was reading that online. i gave it to them i hoped they put it in but i guess eveyone makes mistakes... so that additive makes that big of a difference... also will it hurt to drive it easy of course to see if it just needs to break in more as well...

Hey man...see that you're from WV too

How much did you pay for your 2 series 3.73s w/ install kit from EPP?

Bump for ya, hope you get the noise worked out.

The right side of the carrier shims is loose ,The shims should be tight ,when you turn to the right, the load is put to the left side of the axle or carrier ,witch is pushing the ring gear into the pinion gear, so tighten up the right side carrier shims. and then check the contact pattern with some white grease or paint

Default posi?

Anyone point at the posi getting to its last legs. Slip then grip if it is getting close to the end of its life. You will only notice this on hard turns at lower speeds. esspecially right turns. Check on that too.

well i put good ole cheap oil with the lsd additive and that took the road noise out of the gears but the guy just had to re shim my ring gear... the pinion depth was a little off he said runs like a beast now... i would tell everyone to go 3.73 over 3.42 .... I know making the jump there from 2.73 was well worth the money the car went from strong to a beast.......
