Re: 12 bolt oil.....what is everyone using?
I'm using 85w-140. I thought I'd try the thicker stuff after many suggestions to use it. I went down to my local Pep Boys and noticed they were sold out of Valvoline so I bought the other brand which was CRC's Sta-Lube. The bottle reads this:
Sta-Lube
New Generation
Heavy Duty-Hypoid SAE 85W-140
Limited Slip
Gear Oil
API/GL-5 PLUS
part No. SL2433
1 gallon
CRC logo
The GL-5 is the GM additive but I'd still run a bottle or two of the GM stuff for the locker. The Moser 12 bolt actually sounds quiet like my factory 10 bolt use to be so I thinked it help.

I ORDERED MY 12 BOLT FROM MOSER AND THEY SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT TO USE SYNTHETIC EVER IN THEIR REARENDS AND TO USE PENNSOIL BRAND. THEY SAID PENNSOIL IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST RATED BRANDS OF GEAR LUBE.
