Default Driveshaft Play (TH400 & Moser 9")

So how much of the shaft should you see going into the transmission? Right now I think I've got about 1/4-1/2". It doesn't channge much even with the rear jacked up vs. dropped (probably due to the torque arm).

Are there signs that the shaft is too long while driving?

Do you mean you only have a very slight amount of the splines on the yoke going into the transmission? Bob

I think he's speaking of the distance between the end of the yoke and back side of tail housing. 1/2" should be fine if I'm reading your question correctly based on you asking if the DS is too long....

If you've only got 1/2" of the slip yoke on the output shaft, you're WAY to short.

Yeah, I' more worried that it is too long and too much of the splines are contacting.

I got the same thing going on. My yoke shaft only goes 1" 1/2 from the end of the tailshaft. I will post pictures today.

I think mine may be ok now. It still only shows about a "1/2" when at ride height but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. I should have looked before I pulled it to see if it was different
