Pinion setup issues
I'm having some issues setting the proper amount of drag on my pinion. When i tighten the pinion bolt down on the yoke the pinion is almost impossible to spin. (this happens with the carrier assembly out) What could be causing this to happen? With the yoke off the pinion, it spins with the perfect amount of drag, just as it did before i tore the rear apart. Could this have anything to do with the crush sleeve or the bearings not being seated properly? I did notice that the pinion seal seems to be very tight around the yoke. Please help me out if you can.

What differential are we talking about here ??
In short... you are correct. This would be related to the cruch sleeve being too short or the races not being seated.
Did you re-use the crush sleeve in this build ?? And... are you sure that you have the bearing races fully seated ?? Also, did you sand the bearing lands down to rid yourself of any possible risers ??

Yes its a 7.5" 10bolt. sorry i wasn't more specific. I will try the new crush sleeve and see if it helps out with the drag issue. Is there anything i need to do such as pre-crush the sleeve before i install it? I measured out the stock sleeve compared to the one in the kit and the stock one is significantly smaller.

Uhm... I dont know. I guess you could... just dont go to far (obviously).
I have never 'pre' crushed one... I have always had 175+psi at the impact gun and it takes no time to establish pre-load.
