axles from a 2.73 rear fit in a 3.42 rear?
I currently have a 99 Z28 A4 with a 2.73 rear in it. I am getting a M6 rear with the 3.42 rear gear in it. The guy that is giving me the M6 gear says I will have to use the axles out of my 2.73 rear because he does not have the backing plates. Will the axles from the 2.73 rear fit in the 3.42 rear?

Yes I am planning on puting this rear in my car. Since I made this post I have done some more research and now understand. Tyson told me to use my axles because he does not have the backing plates from the 3.42 rear end. Instead of having the plates pressed off of my axles and put on the 3.42 axles it would just be easier to put my axles in the 3.42 rear which makes sense. I have already checked on the TCS too and the 3.42 rear is a 4 channel rear which means it had TCS and so does my car so it should just bolt right in and all I have to do is hookup the ABS/TCS sensors on each wheel from my axles/backing plates and it should work fine.
