Hello,

I'm wondering if i should downgrade the gears to something less (in the 3's definitely) or should i keep the shorter gears in it now? car spins quite a bit in first, 2nd...and partially 3rd. im going to be adding drag radials the car after xmas to gain some traction. but for 1/4 mile times, what do you think is better. sorry for the noobish question.

Depends on how many rpm you want to spin the motor. I prefer the 4.10's, but traction would be better with a 3.73 or 3.90.

the car turns the tires into smoke in 2nd gear. im thinking with more power, some drag radials will be needed.

I wouldnt worry about the gears until you put the d/r's on and see how she does...

thanks, in 2nd gear....an f250 truck can beat me (until i catch traction) as last night i felt like i was back in my viper with the rear tires spinning. but whats different is that it doesn't spin til the hp kicks in, in the higher rpms. ill have to play with the pressures and get some damn bfg's damn tire rack for being so low on stock!
