Default will be buying 12 bolt.... gear ratio and vendor

down to making my decisions on a Moser rear. I'd like a 3-channel 12 bolt. My car is a street/strip car that sees more strip. I dont want a spool and am leaning towards the Detroit Tru Track. my setup consisted of a 11.0 pass @127 spinning through the 60' on a 3.42 10 bolt. I am upgrading to 28" tires when I do the 12 bolt so factor that in. right now I am heads/cam/4000 stall/built trans/ and 150 shot of spray. I cross the traps just slightly before my 4th gear shift. (6300-6400ish rpms) Since I'm de-gearing with the 28" tires should I go 3.55 or 3.73 ratio and still finish the 1/4 in 3rd gear? the gear calculators dont work well for me since I am pushing the converters stall on the top end. My option would be to use Exotic Performance Plus since they do have the choice of 3.55 or 3.73 gear ratios.

CLiff notes:
-which vendor has the best service/setup/gears used?
-which gear ratio with my setup and taller tires.
Thanks!

Greg

Hey Greg,

I can set you up with a complete Moser 12 bolt differential. we can get them in either ratio you are looking for with the 3 channel abs. Check out our website and let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help you out or answer any questions you might have.

Greg, can I talk you into a 9 inch? I'd go 3.70 gears with your 28" tall tire. If the 9 inch without ABS is a problem, give me a few weeks. Bob

thanks guys...

Bob, I was hoping to stay 12 bolt. my budget is limited (like most people). I was hoping to keep ABS somewhat. I dont wanna purchase an ABS delete block or another driveshaft. 9" is tempting.

I went with a Moser 12 bolt, detroit tru trac, 3.73's, 33 spline axles with the performance cover. Ive ordered it through EPP and its been great. Bob provides great customer service. Im not running quite as fast as you but I have a stalled nitrous A4 car and it has been fine so far.

The 12 bolt and the nine inch are virtually the same price, and if you can wait a few weeks the ABS/9inch issue may be resolved.
Check out my Moser nine inch prices here.
