Default Lingenfelter TA Cover Leak

Ok so I we did the job and i wanted to know if it was ok to use high temp RTV silicon gasket sealer? When we pulled the TA cover it had a gasket on it but I asked and called many speed shops and they all said that the silicon would work fine? So we completed the job and when i drove home about 10 miles and parked it , it started leaking again is it because the silicon was not completly dry its leaking but its not gushing out???? Does anybody have an answer so I can stop tripping about if I should of used a GASKET????? Thanks BB

Check for burrs on the cover or the housing. Most importantly is make sure the housing and cover is free from oil and debris prior to applying the silicone. We never use gaskets.

Note: 15-17 ft lbs on cover bolts. Do not overtighten.
