Default 12-bolt Break-in question

I searched about this problem but I didn't find an answer.

I recently had a 12-bolt installed with several other mods. When making very sharp turns (like when parking), the wheels don't seem to want to turn at different rates. The tires scrape against the pavement, and the car shakes. I've put maybe 230 miles on the 12-bolt so far. Is this normal during break-in, or does it need more fluids, or what?

Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you may have an Eaton posi and might need more posi additive. Bob

Find out what posi unit was installed. Make sure they did not put a spool in it.

It should have a 33 spline spool in it. Does that change anything?

I'll check on the fluids. Thanks for the help!

Hmmm...I just did a search and it looks like these problems around tight turns will always be there in a spool rear end. At least it won't be as noticable when I get some drag radials on the car, and I'll take comfort in the fact that my rear is pretty damn strong.

My Tru Trac did the same thing but it was a ORIGINAL unit, NOT a Eaton "updated" unit. I broke it and it acted like a locker around the corners. It sucked alot

If this is a spool, you will definately be dragging the wheel around the corner. That is what a spool is designed to do. No give around corners, locked up 100% all the time.

My shop took care of the work. They added the proper fluids. As you can see above, it's a spool. Spools don't mix well with corners. Relax.
