the material grade is not stamped into the tube. unless someone can find out who actually manufactures them and try to get an answer that way. good luck there.
if i were to guess, i'd say it's probably 5052, and from the ones i have seen broken, it's not very thick.

the stock driveshaft is marginal at best. i have seen h/c cars break them on the street with stock tires.
a good shaft like a PST or a Strange chromemoly unit is cheap insurance considering the damage a broken stock one will create. let alone the cost to fix that damage when it does.
