Default Need help from rearend guru's

I am trying to purchase a complete 10 bolt rearend from a guy that bought a wrecked 98 camaro just for the engine/tranny. He no longer has the car so there are no numbers to reference. He said the car is an automatic but he thinks it has 3:42 gears since he spun the tire 1 time around and the yoke made almost exactly 3.5 revolutions. My programmer only works with 3:23, 3:42 & 3:73 gears so I would need to know for sure. Any suggestions? Also, I need traction control. he said there is a wiring harness mounted to the top of the pumpkin cover. Is that the traction control. Thanks everybody, I know you guys will set me straight here.

If the sensor IS mounted to the top of 'pumpkin' and NO sensors at the brake 'backing plates',it is ABS only and no 'traction control'.
Automatics came only 2.73-GU2 and 3.23-GU5.

I have a 1LE car it is an auto and the 10 bolt had 3:42's in it. So some auto's do come with 3:42's. You never know with GM they build cars with hte parts they have on hand at the time of assy.

get the rpo codes on the door to make sure, it should have had 3.23 in it, if it did have 3.42 or maybe 3.55, could have been after market or an oem gear upgrade. should say on the edge of the ring gear when you take the cover off.
