Horsepower loss more with Gear swap or rearend swap
Just curious, was having a conversation and my understanding was you lost more horsepower with a gear change more so then a rear end swap to say a 12 bolt or a 9 inch. I do understand that the S60 seems to really rob hp. Am I correct or is it the opposite?? Thanks guys.

From what I have read.
The Dana 60 has the least parasitic drag, but has to turn the most mass.
The 9" has the most parasitic drag, but has more tooth surface coverage for strenght.
The 12 bolt's parasitic drag is in the middle but is the weakest among these three IMHO.
The 10 bolt is, well a 10 bolt.
I think when it all comes out in the wash any losses are minimal. HP should not change when changing gear ratios.
