Question 4.30's or 4.56's

I am having a hard time deciding on what gears to put in my car...I am running 4.10's right now.

Car is a m6 with a moser 9 inch...I'm having bogging issues coming off the line. 60 ft times are 1.5's and leaving the line @6800 and sometimes the rev limiter...the car dead hooks out the hole, then falls flat and picks right up again and goes...

I just left the track today, ( we only have a 1000 ft track ) 1.55 60' 1/8 7.15
1000 ft 9.15 mph 112.6

Car is on stock suspension, bmr t/a,sbc,lca, and tq arm relocator..I am not running a sway bar on the back right now...will be putting a bmr extreme rear drag bar in a few weeks....car is almost 4000lbs with me in it.
Motor is a 408 n/a as of right now.

I think the bogging is from not enough gear to turn the taller tires...I DO NOT WANT TO RUN A SMALLER TIRE...I just need to make sure that this is the reason for the car falling flat.. I only want to change gears once.

If I go to the 4.56's, am I going to have enough gear for when I make it to the 1/4 mile track? I shift around 6800 rpm....Also, are the 4.30's a big enough diff from the 4.10's to help with the bogging...

I'll post up a video of the car later to show it...

Here it is....enjoy...Mine is the Black SS....My buddies is the Black Vette.

Thanks in advance...

doesn't really look like it falls too bad at all to me. it does come down just a little but your gonna have that if your tires are hookin up at all.

if you wanna get rid of it put in an automatic with a big stall and trans brake and be done.

4.56 should be ok for Centerville, RPM wise. If you got the traction. Won't make 1/4 mile though. But how many times are you going to hit Memphis or Mokan??

Tell Wayne Hi.

I appreciate the info guys....I'll probably go with the 4.30's.....I went to Memphis and trapped 122mph and went 11.3 with a shitty 1.67 60'......I pretty much stay local....1000 ft track..

Again, thanks for the imput

4.10's with a 325/50/15 et street tire gets me the same thing. LoL only thing is i am going to squeze nitrous instead of changing out the gears.

I'm going to keep my 28 inch slicks.....I may hold on to the 4.10's and get my suspension lined out.....Remember, I have a m6 I can get away with the gears on the hwy, I just don't want to run out of gear on the track

4.30's with a 28" tall tire works perfect for me. I think 4.56 in 1/4 mile would be a bit much unless you can really turn some rpm's.
