i just installed a 12 bolt moser in my o2 camaro and now when i drive it around i here a tapping noise some times is their and sometimes its not man i can figuere out what it is so i lifted my car and retightend everything and still the same its driving me nuts cuz i dont feel safe driving my car has anyone had this problem please help its like a ta ta ta ta ta ta noise and i only hear it when im in nuetral and rolling to a stop

My first thought is that it is coming from a U Joint, I'd drop the driveshaft out of there and check the u joint caps. Bob

I would agree with Bob, did you change the ujoint when you installed the differential?

In a torsen style carrier the thrust block or "paddle" will bang on the cross pin. What style carrier do you have?

i have a moser 12 bolt and yes i got a 1350 convertion u joint but i think its one of my calibers im going to check it out right now then ill repost

man its not that its driving me crazy someone shoot me lol i have no more ideas and i dont want to drive my car cuz i dont want anything to happen all that money and the 12 moser for it to make that noise dam i hope nothing happens ita a tapping noise in in the rear it comes and goes what can it be not the u joint or the brakes everything is tight when i get on the gas then throw into neatruel it gets louder

I had a similiar noise on a stock torsen...replaced axles/axles bearings. Nope. Did rotors and pads...noise gone. The old rotors were so rusted, I think rust flakes would scrape on the calipers like cards agaist bike spokes.

I could never hear the noise with the wheels off the ground. I think they needed bumps and such to dislodge the rust flakes.

The u-joints turn about three times as fast as the wheels do...so check the frequence of the noise.
