Default 12 bolt Leaking Question

I have a 12 bolt in a 2002 camaro. Just Noticed a small area of gear oil on the ground.... do they normally leak from the blow tube on a hot day? or mayb a gasket.....really i have no idea where its coming from. Kinda was on the top of the rear housing but also on the bottom.

I sold my 12 bolt to a buddy and he is having the same thing happen to him. He just had the rearend gone through and all new gaskets put in ....he usually sees it after driving around and then parking it...more than likely if it is a small (quarter size) spot, it is from the vent hose. The heat builds up and the rearend vents... makes a mess but shouldn't be anything to worry about.
