It depends on what you do with the car as well. Dragstrip or autocross or trackdays or just DD it?
My car had 4.10's which proved to be a tad much for autocross and trackdays, now I have 3.73's and can still run a good number at the strip. Depends on the application.
All dragstrip....probably 4.10's

If your planning on keeping the stock 10 bolt the 3.73's would be a better choice. It seems that 4.10's in the stock 10 bolt have a high rate of failure.
From what I've seen most people that have run both the 3.73's and the 4.10's prefer the 3.73's anyways. I think the reason the 4.10's get so much support is because that's what somebody told them to run. If you read the 3.73 vs 4.10 thread ( I found it in a search the other day) there are guys with A4's arguing with guys that have a M6 (and have ran both ratios) about which is better. People want to take somebody elses opinion and make it their own. Its ignorance at its finest. Not to say everybody that recommends 4.10's is talking out of their ***, just that some are just saying it because that what somebody else has said or recommended to them. Its usually not an informed opinion. I'm going to run 3.73's in the 10 bolt until it goes, then when I get a new rear I will try something else and decide which I like for myself. That's the only way to do it if you ask me.
Good luck with your decision.

With an M6 you'll want to go with at least 3.90s or 4.10s unless you are planning on having extra high horsepower and drags radials, but for the mods you have and are getting the 4.10s will be perfect.
It's a weaker gear so if you have above 500 hp and ultra stickies then you'll frag 4.10s fairly quick.
And no, the gas mileage doesn't go way south. You'll loose 2mpg at the most. Mine didn't even go down that much.
4.10s will truly wake your car up and in the right hands you can see a 3-4 tenth quarter improvement with them alone.
Good luck.

i ran my 91 camaro rs stock 10 bolt w/ a 383 stroker w/ auburn posi and 4.10s. i loved the gearing and no matter how hard i tried i couldnt break the rear. so the stock 10 bolt managed to make it threw the cars life. my nova i went with a 3.73 eaton posi and split it the first hour i had it on the road. i honestly would just go with what you feel would be the best. i fully intend on putting 4.11s in my 01 WS6, but ive also experienced the feel of 4.10 gearing and its addicting. but if you plan on going with a 12 bolt in the summer why not just save the money and wait? wouldnt it be a shitty feeling if you spend the money and then gernade the rear after a couple weeks? i personally would hold off until you are ready to upgrade, no sense in dumping money in your 10 bolt if you are 100% sure you are upgrading to a 12 bolt. just my .02
