9 Inch Ford seal install question?

Default 9 Inch Ford seal install question?
just got a Moser housing and want to make sure I install the axle seals correctly. Which side of the seal faces toward the third member? One side is solid and painted. The reverse is hollow. Thanks

The hollow side faces inward. Make sure to put your backing plates on before you press on the bearings...the o-ring goes towards the wheel.

Great. Thanks. The more I looked at the seal and axle tube, the more I second guessed the direction. I did get directions on bearing orientation and backing plate position.
