Carrier bearing?
Front hub?

I just did my axles/bearings/seals. One axle was pitted bad.
Half the noise went away, now it's clear the other half is coming from up front.

The pinon bearing is the bearing up front where the pinon seal is (what the pinon gear rides on); mine is making noise too. The carrier bearings are what the differential rides on. See if you can wiggle the yoke for play.

carrier bearings are on the sides of your diff,,,,if you pull'ed out your diff, the bearings on on both ends of it. (your shims are there as well) The pinion bearings/seal, is in the DS/yoke connection.

Ok and from what your telling me my carrier bearings are going out or are shot cause the howling is there a certain speeds or when i turn left to right and put light pressure on one side more then the other at certain speed. At low speeds it howls at 55, 60mph it howls the loudest, at 80mph it's quiet so i been drive fast
