Default Need a little info on my rear end please!

Okay, so I bought the gm additive but now thinking i dont need it as when i read posts some people are stating that the auburn unit was used till 99, and the last 3 years was torsen. is this true? I also herd i can check by jacking one wheel up off the ground and if it spins freely its torsen and if it doesn’t its auburn.

As for fluids if torsen would it be good to use 75w90 full syn or reg? also should i just use that additive in there for better lubrication or just take it back to dealer. Thanks, I just need a few things cleared up as the posts i was reading no one was certain or wasn’t fully answered. Thanks. Oh btw my car is 2000 manual.

Yes, auburn was used up to'98, then torsen. I'd use the additive either way, my owners manual says to use SAE 75W-90 synthetic and 4 oz additive for the LSD diff. Put the additive in first, then fill at the factory plug. Some lubricants say it's not needed or included, but surely won't hurt.
