Posi unit is messed up &
possibly the spiders too, now i realized why it spun the tires (well tire) so easy, looks like i'll need to pull the 3rd. member & fix it, so i'm looking into going this route, plus installing some 3.89 gears from the 3.50s, i found a reputable place near me that specializes in 9" fords, they will set up the 3rd. member for 175.00, i should have just went this route the 1st. time like i wanted, i found this stuff from a supplier up in Iowa (i've talked with him in the past), here are the links to what i'm looking at buying, i'm thinking a spool will be stronger anyways, does this look like decent stuff, i can get the gears in Richmond for the same price.

Those items look good. Do you have an M6 or A4? A spool is definately stronger, but there are some noises you'll have to get used to. Sharp turns aren't fun. All the suspension sounds like it's about to break and what ever tire has the weight off of it will chirp it's *** off. I'm not complaining just stating facts, I'm also running a spool in mine with an M6. It sounds terrible at first, but you get used to it. Just be careful on wet roads.

Thanks, yeah its an M6 97 Z28 with bolt-ons, so i'm not really pushing too much rwhp, i'll say 280 or so, the noise i'll get used to, just don't like running around with a fuc$ed up posi, what is funny, when i'm at a light or stopped (neutral load on rearend), if i let the clutch out till it crabs (not touching the go peddle) i get a "curthump" lol, thats the guts taking up the play in it, then its fine when i take off, i'm already out a good 1800.00 in this rearend swap, don't want it like this, this crap just never ends lol.

As blue98z knows I too just went to a spool myself. I have a a4 with a 3:89 gear and have been very happy with the spool. The sounds that come with it take a little getting use to.

Yeah that brings up a good point, if you break a drive shaft and have to push it on a trailer you're going to be hurting. LOL been there, done that. But, not a reason NOT to get one, unless you plan on alot of street driving.
