How do you remove stock u-joint?

How do you remove stock u-joint?

I guess you have to melt out the two little nylon tabs sticking out? I'm not really sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just melt out the plastic by even heating with a propane torch, being careful not to get anything too hot in one spot. Then press the caps out with a vice & sockets. Takes 'bout 15 minutes.

When you heat it with a torch be careful. Sometimes the grease gets hot, builds up pressure and will shoot the cap off with some force. Had that happen a few times.
