Default 9" Gearing Question

I was wondering what the lowest gear you can get for a 9" (For A Corvette).

I was thinking of getting a newer Vette and putting a turbo system on it. The car will be an automatic, so I will stick in a 3,800 (or larger) converter in it.

The idea is with a very low gear the car will still get very good gas mileage. With the turbo, I will still have the power when I want. I should still be able to see mid 11 second 1/4's.

I have heard people with the stock gearing (3:23 ????) are getting 28 mpg on the Vettes. I would think you should be able to improve that number to the low 30 mpg if you stick in a low gear ratio?

So, what gears can you get that will help me?

Thanks,

Bill

I think you can go as low as 2.86 with the ford 9", maybe even 2.75?
