re-installing driveshaft, torque on the U joint bolts
I did search and a few posts said to torque the bolts to 16 ft-lbs. I also saw a PDF file with torque specs that said the 'propeller shaft' bolts are 16 ft-lbs.
But the folks at the machine shop that installed my U joints & balanced it said that was way to low, those bolts need to be very tight. Any opinions?

My 1999 GM Service Manual says 16 ft lbs! If it says it, then I'd use that torque spec.

Now on a V6, it's a little different since they were equipped with a two-piece driveshaft.
Hope this helps
