2.73 to 3.73 gains
What are the gains from going from a 2.73 gear to a 3.73 gear with stick tires?
I just ordered up a set of 3.73's and a series 3 carrier.
Car has went 13.5@106 on 2.73's.

oh i know, just saying that they are not that bad, my buddy has a 01 stripper z28 that has 2.73's and is running 12.09 best i think. Also they are stronger and wont break as easy as 3.73 in a stock 10 bolt due to the fact that the gears are actually bigger. Thats the only reason i have not change gears yet. just my 2 cents

i went 12.37 at 108 with my 2.73s but i am planning on hitting the 11s with a gear swap to 3.73s, it'll be close. My theory is that i will be able to cut my 60' down to like a 1.5 with these gears, right now im cutting 1.70's with my 2.73s and a 3800 stall with headers

One of my friends has a LT's/full exhaust LT1 that had 2.73's in it. He swapped in 3.42's and the car feels much more alive. It felt sleepy on the street before. With the stock converter it looked like I could jog a faster 60ft than he ran. He picked up .2 tenths and I'm not sure on mph. It should pick up a little more because that pass was made with at least 1 fouled spark plug.
