Default rear axle bearing

I have a 02 auto and I wanted to know if the repair bearing for the rear wheel bearing works or should I replace the axle that has some galling on it from a bad bearing and go with a standard bearing. It is a summer driver and I don't race it.

Thanks Chuck

Repair bearings do tend to leak and they are really hard to remove once installed. I would just look around for a good used axleshaft.

Thanks for the reply. I have found a new axle at a reasonable price ($180) and I can get it in 2 days.

$190 for the Dorman... and I can't find the SAG on summit's site.
which is money that I don't have at the moment.

Is it THAT bad of an idea to use a repair bearing for the outer bearing?

thanks for the link slagger.

but I can't wait 2 weeks to get it... it's a DD that has the axle out in a friend's garage right now.

Does anyone know if there are any repair bearings in particular that work better than others?
