Changing gear lube in a Moser 12 bolt?
I have the Moser 12 bolt in my car and am going to change it here pretty soon just so I know what fluids are in there and I dont know how old it is since I bought the car this way.
What is the process of changing it? How much fluid actually goes in the rear end? I was told to just used Synthetic Gear lube with the Posi additive. But I look at the Royal Purple stuff and it says no additive needed, but I see they are talking about LSD rear end in another section. If I were to use RP what do I do? Also thinking about Mobile 1, but they dont say anything about additive and the only additive I can find is for LSD again. What do I do? Also what do I do as far as the gasket on the rear cover? One person told me just to use gasket maker, but I would think they would have just a regular gasket for that rear end. And what size Allan Wrench does it take to get it off? I tried the biggest size I have and it was to small.
Sorry if this has been asked before I couldnt find anything that addressed all of my questions.

Moser does not want you to use synthetic gear lube, use non synthetic. Buy 3 quarts of 80/90 weight and get the limited slip additive as well, since you're not sure what you have in there. Bob

Thanks Bob. I also figured most of the things I needed about the process. The rest I should be able to figure out on my own. But if anyone else has any help/suggestions that would be great, plan on doing it Sunday or Monday racing on Saturday.
