Default Strange 12-Bolt on order for over 3 MONTHS...

I destroyed my 10 bolt at the track the end of May '08. I ordered a complete 12-Bolt package through Strange (PRG210) that same week. It has been 3 months now and Strange states that "the spider gears in the Eaton Posi are not strong enough to our spec and the company that makes them are on back order." My car is sitting at a garage all apart and dead in the water here. Has anyone else had this problem??? Any suggestions or ideas???

That's pretty standard for Strange, and why many sponsors choose to go with Moser, although it'd be a cold day in hell before I'd run a Moser 12-bolt housing. Their torque arm mounting solution with the four short bolts going into blind holes is an engineering disaster...

Hmmm.....cancel the order on the 12 bolt and get your money back, then order a Moser M9 package?

They're a bit pricey, but from what I've seen/heard, you get them in about one week. That would be the best and quickest way to get your car back on the road IMHO.

i can get all the 12 bolt parts from Strange, build it myself, and have it to to you within days. there are other posi units out there besides the Eaton clutch type they use. pm me and i can work up a price for you if interested.

Took 8 weeks to get mine, and they sent me one that was 4" too narrow. Sent it back and it was another 3 weeks to get the correct one. I really didn't want the Moser housing.

They always take time. It is nice though having them in my backyard. I just go up there & pick stuff up direct. It is pretty pathetic though getting a 12 there when you see what they have. They have a rack full of rear's & there's a little ole 12 bolt amongst pro mod & nitro car's rears LOL. It looks like a tinker toy by comparision.
Every time I've been there the place looks swamped.

Yup, its kinda a place that makes pistons, if John Force needs 100 sets or what ever Force needs, beleive me, his needs are put before the average joe blow.

I called Strange and they said that the problem is with the side gears for the 12-Bolt Eaton Posi. Strange says that the side gears that come with the Eaton Posi's are weak and they get stronger ones made for them through US Gear Co. I guess US Gear Co. is under contract through the military so Strange's orders are pushed aside... Who knows when these things are finally going to get made... I will most likely end up getting a Midwest 9"

That sounds a little excessive. I had to wait 2 months but it was worth it in the end.

I'd wait for it, but that's just me. It's a great rearend.
