Another 12 Bolt ? (carrier)
How do you know what series carrier a 12 bolt has in it. I have a Moser 12 bolt with eaton diff., 3.73s, 33 spline axles and the car is set up for ABS & TCS, if that helps. Does Moser change these as an option or do all their rears have the same series carrier? I would like to change my gears but do not know what to buy. Thanks.

You need gears that will work with a 3 series carrier, assuming you're keeping your Eaton.
3.90 and down is 3 series for a 12 bolt.
4.11 and up is 4 series for a 12 bolt.
There are 4.xx gears made to fit a 3 series carrier (thicker ring gear.) You can't do the opposite.
The small 10 bolts work similarly, but their split is 3.08 & down as 2 series, and 3.23 & up as 3 series.

So the 3 series = thick gear
and the 4 series = thin gear
right???
Anyway, if this is the case. Could you use a 4 series gear with a spacer to match up to a 3 series carrier? Do they not make a spacer to do this? Maybe I got this backwards, any help?

So I will assume the 3 series gear is the thicker gear and the 4 series gear is the thinner gear. Do they make a spacer to make the thinner 4 series gear work in a thicker 3 series setup? Thanks.
