newbie question
Hey guys im just about to get into the modding world on my 94 z28. Im looking at getting the lloyd elliot le2 head and cam package. Full bolt ons and a nice strano spring and koni shock setup along with the other necessary suspension mods. I know after all this i should be pushing somewhere around 400 hp and im gonna be getting a six speed put in as well. So my question is what is the best route to go as far as a rear end. Also where is a good place to buy one and that is the best price as well. I think im gonna go with 4.10 gears also. This is a street car that is also my daily driver, i rarely go to the track and hardly race anymore so its just gonna be a fun car i can enjoy. thanks for the info guys i appreciate it.

yeah thats why i wanna get a new rear when i do all this but i dunno if its gonna fit in the budget. Will the ten bolt hold up for a while as long as i leave the stock 2.73's in the car along with all the mods i am going to get? If i am on street tires and hardly beat on the car and wont be going to the track until i get the rear anyway? where is a good spot to get a 12 bolt or 9 in and what is the normal price range for them.

It's hit and miss, some have luck and some break them bone stock. My old ls1 that I had was a h/c 6 spd car making 440rwhp with the stock 10 bolt and 3.42s. I beat the **** out of it, street raced it all the time on et streets and it held up fine for me, never broke it.

hmmm i have heard stories like yours along with people who blew them right away with stock power. I guess im just gonna have to put extra cash together and build my car the other way around starting with the rear and suspension then move onto the head/cam package. Thanks for the help guys.
So does anyone know of good websites to get a good quality 12 bolt or 9 in??

yeah im not looking for anything fancy seeing as im not gonna be really beating on the car at the track launching it at 5k rpm's and running DR's or slicks. Its just gonna be a very stout get me to work everyday car that i can enjoy on some weekend cruises and maybe a couple trips to vegas and cali here and there. So just every now and again ill do some spirited runs on the freeway just to get the juices flowing. So as far as what i need in the 12 bolt i guess i just need the strength. But ill check out some of the sponsors and get some quotes thanks for your help everybody.
