Default Gears??

I'm itchin to add some 3.73s on my automatic ss. Has any one done this yet? and if so how is it?? I was told that the stick can handle it but with the automatic it might be too much?? Thoughts please

I can see where some might say that as the first (and even second) gear in the Camaro SS's 6L80 trans (as I have in my Corvette) is quite high/steep (numerically speaking). The one area where the Camaro differs from the Corvette is that the wheels/tires are also much taller overall which effectively lowers the gearing down a bit. But even so I think 3.73s might be too much for it, 3.42s could be the better choice.
Personally, I would probably keep the 3.27s and just go with a shorter (26" tall?) tire maybe.
