Default Tranny fluid Fill

How do you guys tell if the tranny is full after convertor install? IS the only way to fill it that small fill on the side of the tranny, and do you guys just fill it until it over flows out? and are you guys using Dextron....

Dexron VI and running fill through that bottom plug until it comes out yes. Pain in the but. Was it worth saving $10 on a dipstick GM lol maybe.

I think I would rather pay $10 for the dip.

Had mine changed at the dealer and watched the procedure. Run it until it reachs 135 degrees then pull the side plug and fill that up. Then take out the bottom plug and what runs out is excess. Dexron 6.
