I seen an article awhile back were a shop did a straight axle swap in one, they went pretty extreme I'm not sure if what they did was actually needed but they back halved the car and all sorts of stuff. When I get back this winter I planned on looking into doing it

I would do a 9inch based IRS way before a live axle. My 5th gen rides drives and handles 1000x better than my 98. I won't mess that up. I will beef up the axles and add a 4:10 gear set and call it done. But I don't plan on throwing 1000+ HP at mine though. I have gotten old I guess.

This one's wearing huge meats, built by Ray Henderson. Don't have any real details, just that its a customer car I talked through some issues with him about.

Yep that's the car I was referring too.
We did a wide body on ours and had a set of axles made but that car is mainly an image car.
My plans are the same as yours gunslinger9, I plan to push over 1000rwhp
I'm going to go with the Gforce 9" setup. Just insane it will cost over 7k for a rear end setup....
Guess its the price you pay to handle any kind of power without sacrificing the comfort

I would immagine that back half live axle set up cost about the same as the 9 inch IRS. That conversion is a lot of cutting and fabricating.

Probably so, but none the less I am not cutting up my 2011 car for a back half! That's what the race car is for

Yep. I have never understood why someone would pay the price for a high end new car and go to cutting it up. Pick up a 4th Gen V6 and take a torch to that to make a full on race car. Or since it's more than likely going to be trailered anyway grab a body in white chassis and build off that.
