It would be cool if they went to Direct Injection to speed up performance aftermarkets for it.

At some point, maybe later in the 2010 model run, they are going to offer Heads up display, and supposedly some gear options-3.73 maybe?

Some guesses of mine:
Based on all the talk about the track pack Ford offers, I think we might see a similar package offered. If Ford is really stepping up the GT model to the mythical 5.0 motor, I would expect GM to offer a bit more power to keep up as well.

Ive heard a "Track Pack" is in the works. Why not, the Mustang and Challenger have that option.

i hope they step up the power because if the mustang really goes to 400 stock to stock i think it would be quicker. Mostly because of the big weight advantage that the mustang has. Even though we know along with most performance people know the LS platform is alot better for modding but stock numbers sell cars.

There is about a 300 pound difference now. DO you think it will go to 400 horse and keep the same weight?

It will need beefier components all the way around if they do it right. Only way the car will not gain weight is if they use light weight expensive material throughout the car...which will increase the price of the mustang GT which is its best selling point.

Since when have stock numbers sold cars? THe mustang trounced the camaro for years with a far less powerful 4.6

And yeah...have fun modding the modular btw

exactly what i was going to say. the mustang has always sold because 9for whatever reason) people think it looks good and you can get it with a V8 so theyll take that any day. although, most people opt for the V6, but they still want the sporty looks and be able to say "i drive a mustang". sounds but it sells cars...

I hope they change the windows so you can see out this Armored Personnel Carrying Unit. I have to say I am not a fan of the small windows. It is somewhat difficult to place the car, makes it hard for you to interpret where the actual body ends. I guess it would take some time to get used to.

I really dont expect them to change the windows for anyone that replys.

Everyone seems to think itll keep the same weight.......just like they did when the 05 hit and weighed in at over 3500lbs and they were madder than hell....NOW were the fat kids again lol ...just wait till the 2011 model hits and tips in around between 37-3800lbs. We"ll see, it'll be good though to see the 5.0 badge on a mustang though.

As long as they put that badge on the front grill so I can see it in the rearview.

The Mustang doesnt meet the 2012 saftey requirements. The Camaro does, so yeah the Mustang will pork up some. Plus if they up rim the rim size weight will go up again. If they up the brakes, weight will go up again. Im not really that worried about it either way.

I think the changes to the Camaro will be minimal. Maybe a couple of new colors to replace a couple of the less popular current ones, maybe some new gadget options and maybe a new hood or spoiler if we're lucky. I'd love to see the regular LS3 engine available for the automatic cars but it won't happen. The Camaro will be entering just it's second year so they aren't going to change much performance wise, though I wouldn't be surprised if the L99 gets tuned & produces a bit more HP that it does currently.

As for the Mustang 5.0 topic just what America needed, a 5.0 back in a car that's been over-hyped since the 1980's to help make guys with small ***** syndrome feel bigger because their car has a 5.0 in it. I bet though that the 5.0 will be slower than the LS3 because as always with Ford engines they lack torque. Yet the Mustang will still be as popular as ever because it will have a 5.0 badge on it.

this "strengthening weight" will be offset in part by going to an aluminum block, 126 lbs iirc.

For 2012 it needs side curtain airbags, roof reinforcements that hold 3x the cars weight, door reinforcements that hold 3x the cars weight and stability control. Im not sure if theres more than that.

Wasn't sure what all was entailed in the 2012 standards, but dang, no wonder these cars are weighing so much.
