Default Lightly modded LS3 hits 400 + RWHP

Took the car back down to Straightline's Mustang dyno to see what I picked up with these mods :
Kooks 1 7/8" longtube headers & hi flow cats
SLP Loudmouth II
Rotofab CAI

Car is still running the OEM tune...until the cam goes in it.
Results : 422 rwhp/406 rwtq
Weather corrected results.

Graph showing stock baseline over mods.

On the rollers.

I did all the work myself, so no cash outlay there....the headers & cats were $1300, plus another $850 for the CAI & Exhaust.

So we'll just say $2,500

That's cam-only LS1 territory. Very nice. Time to take it to the track.

I know I'm leaving some HP on the table without a tune, but a cam upgrade is right around the corner, so it's pointelss to tune it now.

Thats pretty good without a tune. I basically did the same thing. I got Kooks 17/8 silver coated and high flow cats with Rotofab cai installed and tuned by G-force and pulled 421 HP and 419 TQ. That was about two months ago when it was alot cooler. I just did another pull at another place and pulled 415 HP but it was alot hotter.

You need to tune the car with headers on it, the air/fuel ratio is running way too rich. The ideal A/F ratio is around 13 and yours is at 9.7 which is way off.

No doubt the car needs a tune....it's pig rich.

However, with the cam swap right around the corner we figured we'd hold off on the tune until the cam goes in.
