I'm In love
I have been looking at the 2010 Camaros since day one, Never seriously considered getting one due to the price and me being all kinds of broke. I got some money in my pocket now and I had the extreme pleasure of test driving a slightly used/modded 480 HP 2010 2SS yesterday.
I had doubts about the 5th gen up until the moment due to recent negative reviews in the latest "CAR AND DRIVER" magazine. But once I sat in the drivers seat and wrapped my hands around the steering wheel and got a good look at all the gauge clusters and supple leather the doubts melted away. The clutch was so responsive, exaust note was pleasing (SLP LT headers and exhaust=CAI) the chirping tires in every gear, the great sound system and overall driving experience was far above any expectations I had. I now will devote all of my time and effort into owning one of these vehicles.
If you have any doubts about these cars you need to Test Drive one today.

it's definetely a lot more refined than the older ones, i drive an 01 z28 and it's powerful and great, but the new camaros just seem to contain the fury a little better, look sound and feel a lot more crisp and polished

I've loved them since the day I saw the pictures of the concept pics waaay back when, but I had doubts about what new car to purchase since I read the recent car and driver reviews of all the poney cars. Which honestly pisses me off because last year they were gobbling all over the 2010 Camaros, but this year just because mustang comes out with a new v-6 and better suspension they are all over those nuts now and completely crapping on the Camaro. I looked at the specs and the times and there are literally micro differences in performance yet they proceeded to make the Camaro sound like an antiquated horse drawn carriage compared to the 2011 mustang. IT made me especially mad after I drove the 2011 mustang, then the 2010 Camaro a week later. The Camaro looks 10x better in my opinion, and to be honest I would rather push a Camaro down the street than drive a mustang.

I thought I was in love with the The 5th gen. SS until I drove my friends now I just like it.
Interior appointments are great, the power delivery is smooth comparatively to the 4th gens. The only downside which made me switch from loving it to only liking it was how claustrophobic it felt inside its huge rear blind spots and low rake front windshield. I think I'd like the convertible much much more if I could afford one.
BTW: The 2011 Mustang GT ain't nothing to scoff at let alone talk about the 540hp Shelby GT500.

I'll love the SS when I can get one below $30k. The current price of them is just ridiculous and I refuse to take that hit brand new. With regards to the 2011GT or shelby GT500 I'd take either one of them too if the deal was right.

I will not say that mustangs are garbage, they are good cars, but the way the article bashed the camaro and praised the mustang was really annoying, especially since I have the issue from last year when the camaros were first available and they were all about it...it just seems crappy to me.

it really irked me the fact that they pinned the 2010 camaro vs the 2011 mustang...it wasn't fair at all, it's like putting a Shelby vs an SS then saying that camaros are slow because the mustang was faster...it's just not cool! haha

Well wait a minute. The iconic pony car war has always been between the mustang GT vs Camaro. The GT is 412hp vs the camaro at 426 hp. How is that not fair to the camaro? And a Shelby vs an SS is not a good example. The Shelby is supercharged with a 115hp advantage.
